Attachment Based focus Fost/Adopt, in Partnerships, and Blended Families

As the head of a family of seven and married for 24 years, I bring both personal and professional experience to my work with adoption, foster, and blended families and attachment needs. For more than two decades, I have supported foster and adoptive families as they navigate grief, trust, identity, belonging, and attachment after tough beginnings. I believe attachment education can help families understand how early experiences shape life long relationships, while the real application of practical tools can help shift attachment patterns and strengthen connections in your marriage, children, inner self and home. Together, we can explore attachment needs, recognize attachment strategies, support attachment healing, and build attachment security. Our work may include developing attachment-focused parenting skills, paradoxical demands, natural consequences, repairing attachment ruptures, encouraging attachment resilience, and creating attachment-informed routines. By honoring each person’s story and prioritizing attachment education, we can work with each other to develop a way forward—one that nurtures attachment, deepens attachment, and supports lasting attachment within the family.

Autism (ASD) and PDA

As a mother of three children with Autism—ranging from twice-exceptional (2E), Level 1, and Level 2—I understand that each Autism journey is unique. My work with families navigating Autism focuses on helping you learn the triggers specific to your special situation and develop practical strategies for navigating daily life with a family member with Autism. I believe every parent needs a safe space to be honest: you can love your child deeply and hate the ASD parenting process and fight for services at the same time. Through unconditional acceptance, we can make room for both the joys and challenges of Autism while creating space for self-care and honest discourse. Together, we can explore Autism-informed approaches, strengthen your understanding of Autism, support your child’s Autism-related needs, and develop Autism-informed strategies for a more sustainable family experience for everyone. My goal is to honor each child with Autism, support every parent navigating Autism, and help families move forward with compassion, flexibility, and hope throughout their Autism journey.

*Although I feel comfortable working with youth with ASD my focus is on the whole family unit. At this time due to limitations over zoom and limited quiet (sensory friendly) space we will decide on the free intake call if my office is the best fit for everyone in your wolf pack. This typically would apply to level three clients seeking services in person due to a shared office space and patient privacy laws. Please reach out to discuss more.

Mid-life Changes

The midlife transition can bring changes in identity, priorities, relationships, health, parenting, careers, and emotional well-being. For many people, midlife creates questions about purpose, connection, and the future. I believe learning about the process of hormones during midlife and its effects on communication styles and perceptions is a critical step. These midlife changes can influence how partners interpret one another, respond to conflict, and express their own needs. I have worked with over 200 clients from all backgrounds, religions, and orientations to discuss this exact period of time and the unique challenges of midlife. I understand that midlife can feel confusing, isolating, exciting or even overwhelming. Whether you are single or in partnership, this shift is real and effects everyone. Counseling during midlife offers a supportive space to explore these changes without judgment. In midlife, individuals may reevaluate long-held belief systems, relationships, and their own expectations. Couples in midlife may benefit from learning new communication skills and developing greater empathy for one another. We can also focus on self-understanding, self-care, and meaningful personal growth. My goal is to help you navigate midlife with compassion, clarity, and practical tools. Together, we can address the effects of midlife on your emotional health, communication, and relationships while creating a more connected and fulfilling path forward.
